Kelly & Will | One Big Adventure | New Harmony Wedding Planner

Kelly and Will were totally meant to be a #daylilycouple. From the moment we started emailing after their inquiry, to our consultation at Gerst Haus (where they also had their first date!) right before they signed, I felt like they were the perfect fit for my awesome couple vibe. They were seriously so chill, and I mean, they brew their own beer and then brought me some when Kelly brought by their retainer check (which Josh drank without sharing any with me btw)! They planned their wedding down to the last detail, but they contacted me with the mindset that they KNEW they needed to secure someone for their day to execute their well-laid plans as flawlessly as possible. This is my kind of couple!

As much as I love Kelly & Will, they love each other even more! They have such a sweet and special ease about themselves. If the couple that plays together stays together, these two are in it for life. They go to Crossfit together, share the same daily passions (Harry Potter marathons, anyone?), and love cooking together. When Kelly got a new job in Salt Lake City, they made a plan and worked their plan. Kelly moved first, and then Will was out there not too long after, once he secured a new job and got their house sold. They’re an amazing team!

Now, let’s move onto their fabulous wedding day!! Kelly & Will had a whole weekend wedding affair based in New Harmony, Indiana. They each had their own guest house for getting ready in the morning, and they enjoyed spending time with the closest people in their lives while getting all dolled up for the big day with Kana Brown on makeup and Hanna Williams in charge of hair.

One of my favorite things about Kelly’s nontraditional ring is that Will had it custom designed for her... look how beautiful it is!

The bridal party flowers were created by Petal & Pine, and they were absolutely stunning. The bouquets were filled with pops of bright-colored wildflowers, and they were exactly what Kelly wanted. They added the colorful touches that balanced out the very classy bridal party with the bridesmaids in black dresses (they got to choose their own!) and the groomsmen in charcoal grey suits.

After everyone was ready and looking their best, Kelly & Will headed over separately to the Atheneum, the New Harmony Visitors Center. This modern architectural backdrop was the perfect setting for their first look and bridal party pictures. Any nerves that day were obliterated as soon as Kelly & Will looked in each other’s eyes to share in their special moment together. Not even the rainy weather could keep them down; they were floating on air.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Rapp-Owen Granary in New Harmony. The Granary is such a gorgeous and neutral backdrop for a beautiful event; you can really do so much with it for a wedding. After Kelly walked down the aisle to Queen’s “Somebody to Love”, she and Will stood in front of Camille Bradford, their officiant and very dear friend, who performed their wedding ceremony. They also had family members write about what love means to them and read their ponderings during the ceremony.

While the ceremony space was being flipped for the reception, the guests were escorted downstairs where they could enjoy bar services provided by Carne Asada. The couple had custom glasses made as favors so that the guests could use their glasses throughout the night for alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. There was a cigar bar outside provided by Events of Harmony for the guests to indulge in throughout the night; I’m pretty sure most of the groomsmen did!

Oohs and aahs could be heard as everyone headed back upstairs for the reception. The space had been transformed with reception tables a dance floor space, and a full buffet by Carne Asada. Kelly & Will really had a fun idea to create dessert centerpieces with The Pacetre for all the reception tables instead of highlighting more traditional table decor. They featured cupcakes, mini pies, cookies, and dump cakes. These were not only beautiful, but absolutely delectable! Then, the rest of the table was accented with loose florals and greenery provided by Petal & Pine and styled by Events of Harmony.

The bridal party entered the reception to “Apache” by Sugar Hill Gang, and the bride & groom danced in to the sounds of “Hooked on a Feeling” (OOGA CHAKA!!). This just set the party with the right tone, and the rest of the night was a blast! Dinner turned into heartfelt toasts by the maid and matron of honor and the best man.

Everyone enjoyed desserts right at their tables, and then the party really started with dancing the night away to the tunes spun by Back Porch Cinemas. I had to get on the dance floor when “Love Shack” came on; I couldn’t help myself!

Kelly & Will, we were totally meant to be the dream team to make your wedding day as perfect as it was! Thank you for believing in me to bring your wedding to life and to take care of all the little things on the day so you two could relax. Getting to know you both has been so wonderful, and I couldn’t be happier for you two as you have started your new life together in Salt Lake City. Utah is the perfect backdrop for you two adventurous hearts. Continue to play together throughout your marriage, and pursue each and everything that comes your way with the same zest for life you two hold now.

I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of your special day, and I loved meeting all your family and friends. It’s obvious from the crowded dance floor that they share the same idea of a great time, and I’m so happy that I could help you put together an event for them that allowed them to let loose and PARTY!! I wish you two all the love in the world and more adventures than your heart can hold.
